Shares in Donald Trumps media company soared as the firm made its formal debut on the stock market.
Trumps social media company and the parent of his favorite communications platform Truth Social became a public company on Wednesday.
The company's stock opened at $17.50 a share and rose as high as $32.60 within the first hour of trading.
The surge in the stock price values the company at around $1.7 billion.
The company's initial public offering (IPO) raised $293 million, which will be used to fund the company's operations and expansion.
