Ponte Preta loses 3-1 to CRB and is practically relegated to Serie B

The team from Campinas is now 10 points behind the first team outside the relegation zone, with just three games to go.

Ponte Preta's defeat to CRB this Tuesday (19) practically sealed the team's relegation to Serie B of the Brazilian Championship. With just three games to go, Macaca is 10 points behind CSA, the first team outside the relegation zone.

CRB opened the scoring in the first half with a goal from Anselmo Ramon. Ponte Preta equalized in the second half with Moisés, but CRB scored two more goals with Mike and Ewandro and secured the victory.

Ponte Preta's next match is against Londrina, at home, on Saturday (23). The team needs to win the remaining three matches and hope that CSA, Novorizontino and Operário-PR lose all their matches to avoid relegation.

Ponte Preta has been in Serie A since 2015, but has had a poor campaign in 2023. The team has won only five of 35 matches and is the worst team in the competition.
